ABOUT US

Cameron Kirkconnell
Born 1977, Cayman Islands
Graduate US Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, NY
CAPTAIN, Master Mariner, All Oceans, Unlimited Tonnage (age 29)
Freedive Instructor with FII (Freedive Instructors International)
20 time Spearfishing World Record Holder.
Captain and Coach of our US National Freedive Spearfishing Team.
I retired from a career as a ship Captain in 2013 to pursue freediving and spearfishing as a professional. Today I head highly specialized freediving expeditions with a team of professional divers and water-men. Most of our clients seek to land the fish of a lifetime or to set a world record of their own. Our team creates the plan and travel arrangements to locate extraordinary fish, and will guide our clients through the hunt, and document it all so that they can relive and share their experiences.
Over the last 5 years we have set 30+ World Records on our trips in almost as many countries visited, and we continue to push the boundaries and advance the sport of freediving and spearfishing.
If you would like to start planning for your own adventure of a lifetime, please feel free to contact me - I am happy to discuss all the possibilities with you.

The Search
"It's not enough to find a fish and put it in the boat. It's the years of planning, the triumphs and failures, and the search for the fish of a lifetime that keeps me going. Sharing this collective knowledge, guiding others who share the same adventurous drive, who deserve and expect the best from themselves and their team, is the greatest reward.
What trip do I look forward to the most? Our next one. "
- Cameron A. Kirkconnell
WORLD RECORDS
Achieving the goal
Spearfishing World Records are kept by the IUSA (International Underwater Spearfishing Association) for exceptional fish speared while Freediving on a single breath of air. Our team of guides have collectively put clients on more than 30 World Record fish and countless personal bests. Our goal is to put you on the fish of a lifetime. The occasional World Record is just a bonus of being in the right place at the right time, every time.
PIONEER
Teaching and furthering a young sport
Once you have mastered the Level One Freedive class and would like to combine diving with hunting, this is the class for you. There’s a lot more to Freediving for Spearfishing, and getting to the next level comfortably is the key to this class.
Learning to deal with currents, holding position over a 60′ spot, making the right drop, and hunting the edge effectively is what you can expect to learn in this class.
ALL OCEANS
Captain of all Oceans
In my time as a Ship Captain I spent 6 months at sea each year researching the charts, and more importantly watching the water and learning from the locals what works and why. Because there are no absolutes in spearfishing, the challenge is to adapt to the environment and having the experience and sense to anticipate what the fish are going to do. Having the knowledge of when and where to try is what we bring to the table.

TESTIMONIAL
"..on that trip (2014) I was blessed to have shot and landed my biggest fish ever (222 lb yellow fin tuna) after a 40 minutes fight I was exhausted but that feeling you get when you have the fish of your life time in your hands was so rewarding and it was all worth the effort, planning and preparation for that trip. Cameron Kirkconnell in one of the best spearfishing guides out there if not the best, and I look forward to plan other epic adventures alongside of him."
